Changes to the driving test from February 14th 2005 The Minister for Transport Mr. Martin Cullen TD announced yesterday that from Monday, 14th February 2005 there will be a change to the driving test, which is being introduced under the EU Directive 2000/56/EC. The change will cover two elements, namely, knowledge of technical aspects of the vehicle and the type of vehicle to be presented for the driving test. Read more on the DoT website |

Plans are now underway to create the Driver Testing Standards Authority (DTSA), the body responsible for "recognising and examining" motorcycle instructors, as well as carrying out driving tests but some examiners may have no motorcycle instruction experience at all.
